Watch out for being shackled to your own convictions instead of to God, the embodiment of love. What do I mean by this warning?
As I’ve grown in years, I’m less anxious about questions and doubts that organically pop up through life’s circumstances. I’m less afraid that if one dogma domino is removed, my whole faith-structure will tumble. And, so what if it does?
With deconstruction comes the privelege of reconstruction! I get to use new, less constricting buiding materials, beliefs which let love flow like the cool winter air wafting through wide open windows. I open the windows as wide as possible to welcome the cleansing, bracing breeze whooshing through my closed up, stuffy, artificially temperature-controlled home.
I challenge you to open up your clench-fisted heart to the possibilities where “us and them” has no residence permit! God can cause a deconstruction of our man-made faith scafolding and reconstruction with an amazing humbling of our religious conceit when we are faithful to Him.
Which prison bars need to be yanked out of your belief system?
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
