Muffins from Master Baking Mix
Holidays are around the corner. We’re waiting to the last minute to participate, initiate, and/or implement family gatherings.

Put on Your Super Hero Cape!
This is the first year I’m not sewing any Halloween costumes. Sadly, my grand babies are all grown up and don’t need them anymore.

Snapdragons Are for Texas. Who Knew?!?
I accidentally discovered that snapdragons are an incredibly hardy fall-winter-spring flower for Central, TX.

When I Have No Words
I’m a collector of words. A turn of a phrase, a grouping of words, a well-crafted story . . . they speak to me. Yet, sometimes, I’m so distracted I can’t find my words. My prayers are but groans. I have to be reminded or invited to drink from the well that never runs dry (John 4: 13-14).

Master Baking Mix
I’m sure you’ve noticed that grocery store shelves are running low on inventory. As a baker, my favorite shortcut recipes are lacking in ingredients, especially if they call for specific baking mixes. And if you do find what you need, chances are, the prices are exorbitant!

Journeying our Way to our Selves
My husband, Tim, and I have been watching a documentary series called Native America. I’m learning quite a bit of history and geography based on the extraordinary oral traditions, written texts, and story-telling art work left by Native Americans beginning more than 13,000 years ago. This Empire’s creations centered around humanity’s relationships with earth, sky, and water.

October Gardening Checklist
October is the busiest gardening month of the year for me, from preparing and winterizing beds to planting perennials and fall vegetables.

Do I Have to?
Change is inevitable, a consistent variable in our journey. How we adapt to change becomes a building block for future encounters with life’s altering experiences.

Pecan Prune Bread
I made up another recipe this last weekend, because I was in the mood for baking and not in the mood to go to the store!

Glorious Joy in a Seed
The closing bell of summer is ringing. In my garden, it’s the season for harvesting seeds.
