Two variables are colliding at once this month: children and grandchildren will be home for the summer and the price of groceries are going up. This recipe can make your life easier and will cost you a whole lot less than buying a baking mix from your grocery store!

The family wants pancakes for breakfast, done!

The older kids want cornbread with that pot of beans and left over Easter hambone that’s been simmering all day, done!

Impromptu visitors are staying the weekend and I need to throw together a coffee cake for a breakfast crowd, done!

A quick picnic basket with biscuit sandwiches is requested, done!

The Master Mix can be used to bake all the above emergency summer staples. I will share the ingredients for the Master Mix today and include the variations for the baked goods in a later blog.

This mix can be used for making fresh home-made biscuits by just adding water to the mix to make a sticky dough. Pat your biscuit dough out on a well floured surface and shape as desired. Bake at 400 for about 15-20 minutes till golden brown.
