What a day! How blessed am I to be hugged by a community such as mine?!?

We broke through the dawn with my dear neighbor searching my yard for blooms she needed to put together the stunning flower arrangements for the party tables. I kept thinking, “How dare flowers survive Texas’ brutally hot August temperatures just for my pleasure?

My sister and I then proceeded to remove from the freezer all the goodies I had painstakingly baked for the refreshments: bite-size lemon sour cream, apple spice, banana nut, double chocolate pound cakes, and chocolate chip cookies.

What did we prepare to drink? The thirst quencher was a mint and lemon tea we brewed fresh from the garden.

We loaded up the van and off we went to the venue, Cultivate 712, an Art Gallery in downtown Waco on Austin Avenue. Several friends and two of my granddaughters arrived early to help set up and man all the tables.

Guests started arriving at 3:30 and steadily attended all the way through closing time at 6:30. My community was awesome! Friends, family, and supporters came from close by and far away. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thank you all for your gracious encouragement and generous loving-kindness.

Yes, I am blessed!

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!”
