Weeds teach me that any day is a jubilee day if I choose to recognize the joy in it! I’m going to personify my weed as she, credit her with strength, resourcefulness, and independence. These thoughts read like the lyrics to a song. Here we go!
She is resourceful. You give her a crack in the sidewalk, and she puts down roots and does her thing no matter what else happens around her.
She is independent. She doesn’t require coddling. She can look after herself. She chooses to live despite adverse circumstances, pushing her way through the concrete, trying to survive and thrive.
She demands to be recognized. She shows me how easily a glory day can slip by unnoticed. She demands to carve out her own space, to be witnessed. Her might is something to admire and behold.
My dear sisters, know your strength, claim your voice, and make some “good trouble!”
Are you thriving where you’ve been planted?
She begins her work vigorously, and she strengthens her arms. She knows that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out in the night . . . She extends her hand to the poor and reaches out her hand to the needy.
She is clothed with strength and honor, and she can laugh at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.
Charm is deceitful and beauty fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised. Give her credit for what she has accomplished, and let her works praise her in the city gates.
So beautiful! Today I’m going to rejoice in my weediness!
Love being with my strong “weedy” friends!
Thanks for words that encourage me to stay the course!
We have to keep on keeping on. Your strength and perseverance is counted on by many!
Beautiful perspective and message
Grateful it spoke to you.
