If you follow my gardening tips every other Friday, you know that I’m an advocate for prying out and pulling up weeds by hand. However, sometimes weeds sprout in my dry creek bed, along garden paths, between paving stones, in sidewalk cracks, and along driveways. I can’t get to the roots in these hard to reach places, so I’ve concocted my own recipe for weedkiller!
Are you ready to try a nontoxic and cheap alternative to roundup?
4 cups white vinegar
1 cup salt
2 squirts Dawn liquid detergent
Mix all the ingredients well without agitating the soap. Pour into a spray bottle. Spray directly on the weeds. In a few days they will die completely and you can easily pull the weeds up.
