My dear friend, Lordes, is an inspiration to me. Today, she gifted me with her words of hope. Hopelesness weighed heavily on my heart, yet her strength of character and faith reminded me that the heartaches and joys of this world have equal influence. It’s our choice to gauge our perspective..
Several years ago, Lordes had a kidney transplant, yet that never slowed her down until last month when she was hospitalized for two weeks with this latest strain of COVID. For those of us who are immuno-compromised, this virus is no joke! At one point, the doctors informed her that her kidney, lungs, and other organs were shutting down and they advised calling in her family,
Lordes told me that in that moment she did not feel panic or anxiety. She realized that just like her illness and hospitalization seemed like a bad dream, so it is in her life. “Sometimes it’s a nightmare, but just as often it’s a pleasant dream, full of lovely relationships,” especially those with her grandchildren.
Lordes is out of the hospital, recovering at home, and looking forward to experiencing more of what life has to offer, whether it be a good or bad dream from which she will always wake. She said, “It’s maybe on earth or maybe in heaven, but both with God.”
Are you living through a good or bad dream?
Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possesions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil – this is a gift of God. They seldom dwell on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.
Beautiful testimony.
She is a lovely friend through and through!
