Today is one of those days when I need a vacation from my churning thoughts. I have a bad habit of solving realistic, yet make-believe scenarios in my head based on actual situations in which I’m currently a “supporting actor.”
As is my norm, I was strolling through my early morning garden, making mental notes as to what was in need of extra attention in this scorching summer heat. My cat likes to follow me around, run ahead, and flop down right in my path demanding attention!
I laughed out loud and then realized how wise he is and I need to heed his advice:
1. Raise my face to the sun, sniff the breeze, and roll around in the grass.
2. Insist on a back massage whenever and from whomever possible.
3. Reach out and touch any living creatures that cross my path like lizards, butterflies, and people, but be persnickity! You never know who will nip, sting, or even kick.
4. Don’t worry about the next meal, because provisions are around every corner.
I reached out to tickle his belly and was rewarded with a motor-boat prrrr and a satisfied grin! Thank you Casper for teaching me to be in the moment and not worry about what yet might be.
Who will you reach out and touch today?
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
