Summer is winding down. The grandkids are over. It’s too hot to turn the oven on and bake anything. What do I do? They’re clamoring for one of Grandma’s cakes!

Make a no-bake Fun Pop Corn Cake. Little hands can help, and big appetites will be satisfied. Problem solved! This cake combines all the highlights of summer memories in one bite: the “colorful” amusement park, the “salty” beach, and the “sweet” grandma sleepovers.

Close your eyes. Reminisce. Taste the kaleidoscope of summertime fun.

Combine the 4 quarts of popped corn, the peanuts, and the candy in a large bowl. In a saucepan, melt together the butter, oil, and marshmallows. Pour the hot mixture over the popcorn mixture in the bowl and stir well to coat the popcorn with the ooey gooey yumminess. Press the sticky mixture into a buttered angel food pan with the removable bottom. Cool completely for several hours. Pop the cake out of the pan. Use seasonal colored M&Ms for different holidays. this is a fun summer holiday activity to do with children.
