Heat isn’t the only source of warmth in winter. Warm spices also generate body heat, but from the inside out. I can’t think of a better way to ingest these traditional warm spices than through cookies!

This recipe is an old fashioned molasses spice cookie sure to warm up any cold afternoon accompanied by your favorite hot beverage.

Preheat oven to 360. Cream together shortening, sugar, and molasses. Add egg and beat till light and fluffy. Add remaining dry ingredients including all the spices. Beat till mixture is incorporated. Use a small cookie scoop and place on lightly greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
